There is a place to visit in Northern California about 40 miles from San Francisco and about 15 miles from San Jose. The best time to visit is in the months of March and April, when spring is in full bloom. The shoreline at Mountain View Park is situated on the bay, allowing for breath-taking sunsets. There are plenty of things to do in the town of Mountain View.
Families can enjoy the Children's Discovery Museum in San Jose, where they are greeted with a prehistoric Mammoth. Children and adults can explore the 150 interactive and hands-on exhibits, beginning with the Mammoth exhibit. The art loft allows children of all ages to learn techniques and use tools to create their own art work. A favorite for children is the WaterWays exhibit, where playing in water is all about learning or just listening to the soft soothing sounds of a gentle rain. The museum is dedicated to learning, education and families having fun.
If your family enjoys theater, then going to the Mountain View Performing Arts center will have plenty for you to see and enjoy. During the holiday season, the Nutcracker Ballet, the Gospel Holiday Concert and the ballet of A Winter Fairy Tale will all be on stage.
Families that enjoy learning about technology should visit the historical site where the first HP product was made in a garage. The next stop on your adventure should be to the Computer Museum History Center. There you can discover and learn about the people and explore the exhibits. The museum is closed on all major holidays.
